Arpacı completed his bachelor’s (degree) program in the Istanbul University, Faculty of Law in 1975. He served as a deputy public prosecutor and public prosecutor for a while. He started to work as a research assistant before Istanbul University, department of civil law in 1978. He completed his doctoral studies in Germany at the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg and at the University by doing so he received a doctorate degree in 1984. Arpacı, who was appointed as assistant professor in 1986, received associate professor in 1990 and professor title in 1996. He worked as a faculty member at Istanbul University, Faculty of Law for many years. He gave courses in Civil Law and Commercial Law at various universities. Arpaci, who also gave lectures such as General Law, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at Police Academy, took a role of board member of faculty and foundations.
He currently gives Civil Law, Property Law, Private Law Practices and Obligation Law courses as a full-time professor at the Yeditepe University Faculty of Law. He is also the Head of Private Law and Civil Law Department at the Yeditepe University, Faculty of Law. Arpacı has been participated in numerous master and doctoral proficiency exam as a juror at Istanbul University, Faculty of Law and at the Yeditepe University, Faculty of Law. He has also participated in numerous associate professorships and professorship grand juries. Professor Abdulkadir Arpacı practice as an expert before Istanbul Courts for many years and has helped the courts with expert opinions. He also continues to work as arbitrator and chief judge in the arbitration proceedings in respect of various fields of private law. Moreover, he participates TV various program and publishes articles regarding legal issues. He has been served as chairman or speaker at many scientific meetings for many years.
